Refugee camp in Uganda starts growing their own food

The refugee camp Nakivale in Uganda counts 140.000 souls from different African countries. They are doing their best to develop a living, helped by some entrepreneurial minds among them. They received support from local government to grow their own food. Two fields have been offered for long term usage. The initiative has drawn the attention of many locals to work on the land. They call for international support for minor investments in tooling, seeds and irrigation. STIR Foundation has set up a GoFund to collect the desired 500€ for the purchase of these means. As FRE2SH we also provide online support with some advice on how to develop the local regenerative food economy, social interaction and community building.
